Located along the beautiful Leon River in Belton, Texas, Belton Lake is a manmade lake that was completed in 1954 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and offers 136 miles of beautiful lake shoreline, plus a variety of outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. Belton Lake offers a variety of camping sites, from tent sites with few amenities, to full service RV camp spots with hook-ups. Most campgrounds at Belton Lake offer restrooms with showers and many feature extra amenities including laundry facilities, barbecue pits and playgrounds. Campers are encouraged to make reservations at least six months in advance for summer camping. Campsite check-in time is 3 pm and check-out time is 2pm. Belton Lake is open to the public year-round. Gates open daily at 6am and close at 10pm. Visitors can purchase a day use pass for $3.00, and a boat launch pass for an additional $3.00.
